The streaming service had better luck with its movies in August
The most in-demand show available to stream on Netflix in August was “strange things“According to data from Parrot Analytics, which takes into account consumer research, streaming, downloads and social media, among other engagements.
A month after releasing the last batch of episodes in its fourth season, “Stranger Things” had 121.5 times the average series demand in August. While “Stranger Things” has become a cultural touchstone it is impressive, it seems Netflix has been resting on its “Stranger Things” praise lately. None of the other shows in the top 10 were Netflix originals.

In a normal month, extraordinary demand for AMC series”breaking bad” And “better call SaulWould have put him in the race for the top spot. They trailed “Stranger Things” this month, with 71.56x and 68.18x, respectively, the chain’s average demand. The “Better Call Saul” finale on August 15 increased demand for both series. While Netflix doesn’t yet have the latest season of “Better Call Saul” (still on AMC+), fans who continue to watch chronologically from the prequel finale will be able to find all of “Breaking Bad” on Netflix.

In addition to “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul”, AMC’s “the walking deadAlso ranked among the 10 most in-demand shows on Netflix. That means three of the 10 most in-demand series on Netflix this month were from AMC, indicating that the channel is the core of some of the most popular content important to a platform like Netflix.
The other licensed content that’s driving Netflix’s highest demand this month includes the ever-popular “outlanderFrom Starz, which had 30.19 times the average series demand. The CW’sflamboyantThe average was 41.92 times the chain demand. Three anime series in the top 10 on Netflix also include: “attack on Titan,one piece” And “Naruto,
Netflix original movies seem to be doing a better job of gaining weight in August. “The Gray Man” topped the rankings with 26 times the average film demand. It became available on Netflix in late July and the platform is already planning a sequel and spinoff on its success. Two other Netflix movies, the action comedy “Day Shift” and the animated kids movie “The Sea Beast,” also made the platform’s top 10 last month.

“RRR” was the only non-English film to rank among the 10 most sought-after movies on Netflix in the US. The Indian film premiered in March, but hit Netflix in May, and has been in high demand in the US since then.
The hodgepodge assortment of Spider-Man movies available to stream on Netflix is in high demand. Even as the latest Tom Holland “Spider-Man” movies are unavailable to stream on the platform, Marvel’s multiverse twist in the latest film has led to a steady increase in demand for these older movies. Netflix should thank Disney.
“El Camino: A Breaking Bad Story” gets an honorable mention this month. It didn’t quite make it to the top 10, but fell short with 14.1 times the average film demand for the month of August. It clearly benefited from the increased interest around the “Breaking Bad” franchise as “Better Call Saul” approached its finale.
