SVU for ‘Organized Crime’ finale event

Kelly Giddish will return to NBC’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” as fan-favorite character Amanda Rollins in the season 24 finale, a person close to the production told TheWrap on Tuesday.

She will also appear in the season 3 finale of “Law & Order: Organized Crime,” both shows airing Thursday, May 18.

In his final episode as a regular on the police procedural, Rollins befriends ADA Dominic “Sonny” Carisi (Peter Scanavino), a longtime love interest who is still on the series. He also left Olivia Benson’s (Mariska Hargitay) squad and took up an offscreen job teaching, a move that led to him being shot in the line of duty.

tvlineJoe previously reported that Rollins would be pregnant in the crossover episode.

Rollins’ place on the squad was filled by rough-edged Detective Grace Muncy (Molly Burnett), who transferred from a Bronx gang unit.

All three “Law & Order” series were renewed Monday through 2024, while series creator Dick Wolf extended his deals with NBC and Universal TV through 2027 on Tuesday.
