Sylvester Stallone leads new Taylor Sheridan show

Paramount+ today unveiled the full-length trailer for “Tulsa King,” the upcoming mafia series from “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan starring Sylvester Stallone.

The crime drama stars Stallone as New York mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi, who, fresh from a 25-year prison sentence, finds himself moving to the Midwest on orders from his boss. To set up his new criminal venture, Dwight taps a group of locals to join his team — and where. He Turns out, violence and anarchy inevitably follow.

The clip begins with Dwight returning home, where he does not receive the warm welcome he was expecting. As a thank you for keeping his mouth shut for a quarter century, his owner sends him to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Dwight is clearly a fish out of water. He gets busy building his team with the help of violence, intimidation and cold money.

“This is how it’s going to work,” he tells a newly hired employee (played by Martin Starr). “I will protect you from gangs … and the law … you must know your risks.”

“Unless you came along, there was no risk,” he counters.

As Dwight gathers friends, he also attracts enemies – namely the FBI and a local motorcycle gang. The gang leader said to him, “You are raising your hand.”

“When I play my hand,” Dwight says, “you won’t see it coming.”
