Barack Obama has entered the campaign trail for some fellow Democrats in the final phase of this month’s midterm elections. And for Jimmy Fallon, it’s probably the most obvious sign that the party is a little worried about how the results are going to turn out.
That said, Fallon can’t deny that the former president is still a loved one. During his Halloween monologue Monday night, the late-night host snapped footage of one of Obama’s recent appearances in Michigan. In the footage, Obama admits it’s a little harder to stay out of campaigning than when he was running for president, simply because he’s all grown up now.
In response, a woman in the background got a little flirtatious, and called out to Obama, saying he was “still fine.” Obama and Fallon both got a good laugh at that, with the latter comparing that response to a more sleazy version of “okay” Obama applied to the former VP.
“That’s the only difference between Obama and Biden,” Fallon joked. “When Obama was on stage, people were like ‘He is Well, And when Biden is on stage, people are like “He’s fine…”
Fallon also suggested that, following the woman’s remarks, Michelle Obama may have encouraged her husband to stop the campaign appearance tour. Jokes on the man’s appearance aside, Fallon notes that Obama’s appearance at these campaign stops appears to be a big play by Democrats—like Ole Marie.
“That’s right, the Democrats have positioned Obama on the campaign trail. Tell me you’re upset about the midterm, without telling me you’re upset about the midterm,” he said.
