7/7 MUTO

MUTO's Godzilla
Warner Bros. Pictures

Sure, this one can be cheating as it’s not just one Titan, but essentially a term meaning Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism. However, we will discuss only two of them. Entered for the first time Godzilla (2014), the MUTOs make a terrifying and destructive introduction, as they overthrow cities and eat nuclear weapons (gaining them power); it seems these creatures were simply unstoppable. Not to mention there were two of them, a male and a female, with the female being much larger and much more lethal. The male may not be as strong, but instead has a set of wings, allowing him to fly and release an EMP blast that disables all electronic devices in a five-mile radius.

Godzilla had a pretty tough time defeating these two creatures, with the two tag-teaming against him for a better advantage. Godzilla eventually won, but the MUTOs certainly didn’t make it easy.

6/7 Rodan

Rodan, Godzilla_ King of the Monsters
Warner Bros. Pictures

The massive Pterosaur became a fan favorite in the eponymous 1956 Toho classic and has since made its reimagined appearance in the Monsterverse with Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Rodan erupts on screen from a volcano and possesses the ability to fly at supersonic speed and create supersonic thunderclaps with his wings. This without mentioning that Rodan radiates at temperatures up to 1200°C, making him a tough enemy. While a great looking and very powerful creature on the surface, Rodan eventually loses every battle he faces and succumbs to the King of the Monsters every time. Luckily, Rodan isn’t dead, so we can all look forward to seeing him again.

5/7 Motra

Warner Bros. Pictures

This beautifully elegant moth may not pose a mortal threat at first, but her vicious sting, sharp legs, and loyalty to her friends prove that Mothra is definitely the MVP of the entire universe. Unfortunately, meeting her downfall Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Mothra goes out with a bang, defeating Rodan, before sacrificing herself for Godzilla and transferring all her power into him, making an uber Godzilla who can finally defeat King Ghidorah. We miss you Mothra!

4/7 Mechagodzilla

Mechagodzilla
Warner Bros. Pictures

Fans rightfully lost their minds when Mechagodzilla was introduced into the epic Godzilla against Kong, especially when the giant robotic creature came face-to-face with both Godzilla and Kong in an epic team-up; it’s safe to say that while his appearance was brief, it certainly wasn’t disappointing. Mechagodzilla is essentially a robot version of Godzilla, with a similar albeit slimmer design, as well as Godzilla’s almighty atomic breath. Mechagodzilla proved to be a challenge for the King of the Monsters, especially given that the robotic creature possessed King Ghidorah’s consciousness. With Kong’s help, the two managed to defeat the titan.

3/7 King Ghidorah

King Ghidorah
Warner Bros. Pictures

With a name like King Ghidorah you must be cool, right? Well, on top of that with three heads, a hydra-like design, giant wings, and extremely powerful electrical blasts that shoot out of all three of Ghidorah’s mouths, and Ghidorah is one of the coolest creatures in movie history. King Ghidorah made his very first appearance in the eponymous 1964 Toho classic and instantly became an iconic and powerful rival to Godzilla, getting fans excited about their showdown in the MonsterVerse’s Godzilla: King of the Monstersand it did not disappoint.

As an alien Titan, Ghidorah is clearly more powerful than Godzilla, defeating him on numerous occasions, and only with Mothra’s help was Godzilla able to finally defeat him, making Godzilla the new King of the Monsters.

2/7 Kong

A scene from Kong Skull Island (2017)
Warner Bros. Pictures

The king himself, Kong, narrowly misses first place. Kong doesn’t possess any skill or power like the rest of the Titans on the list; However, Kong still manages to hold his own against the mightiest Titans. The giant gorilla is easily the most lovable on this list, and even though he only appeared in two in-universe movies, fans immediately fell head over heels for him.

As the last of his kind, Kong was forced to protect Skull Island from the nasty Skull Crawlers who, if they overrun it, would destroy the world. Later, Kong would go on to fight the King of the Monsters, Godzilla, as Kong was the only other Alpha Titan left, and seeing Kong as a challenge to his throne, Godzilla would hunt him down until Kong was dead or before him archery bow. Godzilla. But being the awesome Alpha Titan, Kong bows to no one and takes on the mighty Godzilla before teaming up with him to defeat Mechagodzilla. Are they friends now? Hopefully, but to us they’re both kings.

1/7 Godzilla

Godzilla, king of the monsters
Warner Bros. Pictures

Who else could take the top spot but the one who started it all, the mighty alfatitan Godzilla? The almighty atom-breathing lizard is and always will be the king of the monsters, battling anyone who stands in his way, from King Ghidorah to MUTOs and of course Kong. He all proved victorious, making Godzilla the most powerful of them all. Godzilla has many abilities and powers, including breathing an awesome and powerful atomic blast, and being able to swim underwater for a long time. Sure, he’s not that mighty on land, but as the record states, Godzilla still won all his battles on land. Godzilla really is the king of the monsters.
