The final trailer for The Way of Water brings even more mind-blowing teasing into James Cameron’s world

The road to the release of Avatar: The Way of Water starts here, as ticket sales begin and a new trailer comes out with more new footage.

Tickets are now on sale for Avatar: the way of the water, and fans got a new trailer to celebrate. The movie is already expected to be one of the biggest films of the year, and just how big will become clear as pre-sale numbers start to roll in. For those who want to see more of James Cameron’s return to Pandora, the new trailer gives another glimpse into what’s coming next month.

James Camerons avatar sequel comes 13 years after the original film shattered box office records and seemed to usher in a new level of filmmaking, featuring amazing 3D technology never seen before. While the same 3D heights have never been seen since, with many trying and failing to jump on the bandwagon without going to Cameron’s heights to make it happen, new avatar movie looks like it has no intention of disappointing fans.

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

As part of his lengthy interview for the new edition of Total movie via GamesRadar, Cameron explained that his emphasis is on character, and making sure all characters get the story they deserve takes time to get it right. He said:

“The goal is to tell an extremely compelling story on an emotional basis. I would say the emphasis in the new movie is more on character, more on story, more on relationships, more on emotion. We didn’t spend as much time on relationships and emotions in the first movie as we did in the second movie, and it’s a longer movie, because there are more characters to serve. There is more story to service.”

Sequels are mostly the stuff of diminishing returns, but Avatar: the way of the water wants to buck the trend in more ways than one. Comes more than a decade later avatar arrived in theaters, chances are the sequel would be way too late for anyone still interested in the franchise. With several more sequels already in development, Avatar: the way of the water must prove that there is enough mileage in Cameron’s magnum opus to warrant so many additional films. However, in the unlikely event that the film fails to make waves at the box office, Cameron is already willing to commit to his plans. He said earlier:

“The market could tell us we’ll be done in three months, or we’ll be half done, which means, ‘Okay, let’s finish the story in movie three and not go on forever,’ if it just isn’t profitable. We are in a different world now than when I wrote this stuff, even. It’s the one-two punch: the pandemic and streaming. Or, conversely, maybe we’ll remind people what theater going is all about. This movie certainly does. The question is : how many people now give as***?”
