Jimmy Kimmel is adding his voice to those who believe Donald Trump will ignore his federal summons to testify before a January 6 committee. According to the late-night host, the only way Trump’s hand for swearing ends up on a Bible is if that Bible is in a place it definitely shouldn’t be.
Returning from a week off on Monday night, there were some headlines for catching Kimmel. This of course included the summons issued to Trump by the committee on January 6. While many are led to believe Trump will not testify under oath — even Trump aide Ted Cruz scoffed at the idea on Monday — the twice-impeached former president himself has said he Will If his testimony is televised, he appears.
But still, Kimmel is skeptical, saying Trump is “not an idiot.” There is only one circumstance that Kimmel can see leading to his collaboration.
Kimmel joked, “The only way they can get Trump to get his hands on the Bible is if they hide it in the waitress’s skirt.” “He’s not going in.”
Kimmel also took note of reports that Trump is apparently considering Marjorie Taylor Green as his running mate for the 2024 presidential election.
“You remember Marjorie? Racist, shower drain clog?” Kimmel joked. “Well, Trump is said to be thinking of her as VP. Eric is like, ‘Does this mean she’s my new mom?'”
Speaking a touch more seriously, Kimmel ignited the idea of Trump and Green moving in together, joking that “the only thing the two of them should be going through together is Hooters in Fort Lauderdale.”
