As Hurricane Ian swiftly approaches Florida, “The View” co-host Joy Behar doesn’t have much sympathy for Governor Ron DeSantis amid his requests for bipartisan aid in the disaster. On Wednesday’s episode, the host and comedian threw his past of the governor back at him, jokingly saying that asking him for help is “socialism.”
To kick-start the Hot Topics discussion, the hosts watched a clip of DeSantis on Fox News, in which he said, “We all need to work together, regardless of party lines,” and went so far as to help her. Thanks to the Biden administration. “We really need everyone to work together to make sure people’s needs are met,” he said.
“Isn’t it socialism when the government helps you?” Behar quips the question, prompting Sunny Hostin to joke with her. “Yeah, and the fire department has to come, and the police. I mean, socialism!”
