‘The View’ Hosts Dress Up as Charo, Moira Rose, Carrie Bradshaw & More for Halloween Episode (Photos)

The hosts of “The View” always go out for Halloween, and this year was no different. The theme of Monday morning’s show was “Iconic TV Characters”.

Ahead of Monday’s episode, the show’s official Twitter account teased that the hosts were “coming into character for a television program decades in the making!” It was a fitting gesture, as he began the episode with a skit in black and white depicting a dinner party at Joy Behar’s house.

Unfortunately, Whoopi Goldberg could not attend, as she was hosting an episode of “The Twilight Zone”. But with that said, she confirmed that this year’s costume themes were classic TV show characters. The introduction of each host was a set of opening credits.

Sunny Hostin dressed as Queen Charlotte from “Bridgeton,” while Alyssa Farah Griffin showed up as Carrie Bradshaw from “Sex and the City.” According to the host, she was too young to actually be allowed to watch the show, but once she did, she always considered herself a Carrie.

Behr appeared as Peggy Bundy from “Married with Children” and Ana Navarro dressed as Charo from “The Love Boat”. Explaining her costume, the real Charo dances with Ana and praises the show. She even went so far as to persuade the women.

To round out the group, Sarah Haines arrived as Katherine O’Hara’s character Moira Rose from “Shit’s Creek” and Goldberg dressed as a handmaiden from “The Handmaid’s Tale”.

Aubrey Plaza and Randall Park were guest of the day promoting their shows “The White Lotus” and “Blockbuster” respectively, the latter of which will premiere on Netflix later this week. Naturally, they also joined in on the fun of the costume.

Plaza dressed as the vampire witch, while Parks came on as her “blockbuster” character, Timmy. At her entrance, Plaza scolds Behar for having sex “with my ghost,” mocking Behar’s claims for the past few weeks.

In 2019, the ladies of “The View” paid tribute to Stephen King, with each host dressing up as one of his terrifying characters. In 2020, the hosts opted to forgo the costumes, given that they were completely virtual amid the COVID-19 pandemic. But in 2021, they returned in full force with a “see-sickle” theme, in which women dressed up as some of the most iconic characters in Broadway musicals.
