The Walking Dead fans spot Freddy Krueger Zombie in latest episode

Fans have seen in the latest episodes of The Walking Dead what appears to be an Easter egg for A Nightmare on Elm Street.


We are fast approaching the end of The living Dead, and it looks like executive producer and FX guru Greg Nicotero has some Easter eggs in store for fans in the latest series of episodes. In previous seasons, Nicotero and the show’s FX team have paid tribute to various horror movies with certain props or walker designs. utilities, A nightmare on Elm Street can be added to the list if fans watch The living Dead observed a reference to Freddy Krueger by Robert Englund on Sunday evening.


Per iHorror, the Freddy reference comes during a scene with survivors including Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) walking down a sewer when they happen to encounter a walker that looks very familiar. His burnt, bald head bears a very strong resemblance to Freddy Krueger, and a closer look reveals that the zombie is even wearing a striped sweater. These details can be hard to discern due to the darkness of the scene, but they’re clear enough that many horror fans will notice the obvious reference when watching the episode.

Tribute Zombies are nothing new in The Walking Dead

Of course, fans are prepared to hunt for Easter eggs in episodes of The living Dead, especially with zombies that resemble other characters. Recognizable zombies from classic George A. Romero movies such as Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead found in previous seasons, and a well-known chest from horror show may also be noticed at some point.
