The Watcher Deathrons Asphalt on Netflix Top 10

Ryan Murphy is the producer to beat for this week’s Netflix Top 10, as his latest true crime title “The Watcher” surpassed his previous hit “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” with 125 million hours.

“Dahmer” is still sitting at number 2 on the English TV list, racking up another 122.8 million viewing hours in its fourth week on the chart.

“The Watcher”, starring Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale, is a seven-episode limited series based on the story of a real-life couple who were harassed by a seemingly unnamed man. Moving to their dream home in the East Coast suburbs, Nora and Dean Brannock receive alarming letters that cast suspicion on all of their unknown neighbors, some of whom may have to gain something to get them out of town. According to Netflix, the show, inspired by a 2018 New York Magazine article of the same name, landed in the top 10 in 90 countries on its October 13 release date.

The thriller marks Murphy’s second No. 1 series debut in four weeks, following “Dahmer”, which Netflix touts as its biggest series debut on record. The highly controversial and critically acclaimed series starring Evan Peters earned 196.2 million viewing hours in its first five days, making its way to No. 2 on English-language TV’s most popular list, with a total of 824.2 million hours of views, thanks to “Stranger” Right behind things 4.”

Also during the week of October 10–16, “American Horror Story: NYC” co-produced “Mr. Harrigan’s Phone,” the eponymous adaptation of the Stephen King novel created by Murphy. The title saw an additional 20 million hours in its second week on the list.
