“The White Lotus” entered the ratings high on Sunday with its fifth episode of season 2.
As the show took Tanya and Portia to Palermo and a tense vineyard scene following Ethan and Cameron’s nefarious misadventures played out, 2.3 million viewers in the US tuned into HBO Max and linear telecasts Sunday night, Nielsen and According to first-party information.
The series ranked as the No. 1 title overall on HBO Max for the fourth week in a row.
Viewership for the start of Season 2 has increased every week since the season premiere in October, bringing in a cumulative 9.5 million viewers on the platform through August 2021 compared to 1.9 million viewers for the Season 1 finale.
The season 2 premiere also surpassed the average audience of season 1 episodes, which averaged 9.3 million viewers per episode. Additionally, total premiere night viewing increased by 28% compared to the previous Sunday, and by 23% compared to the previous series.
New episodes of “The White Lotus” Season 2 air Sundays on HBO and stream on HBO Max, with the season finale airing on December 10.
