Last year, Nisha Rawal had filed a domestic violence complaint against estranged husband Karan Mehra, his relatives Kunal Mehra, Bela Mehra and Ajay Mehra. She had also addressed her allegations in the media, accusing Karan of having an extramarital affair. While Karan has denied any wrongdoing, he recently said he would like to have a public trial against Nisha and live stream it like the defamation lawsuit of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, in which the final verdict came out in Johnny’s favour.
Since his arrest in 2021, Karan and Nisha have been battling it out in court where Karan seeks custody of their son Kavish. When asked about the idea of having a court track on television, Karan said he has nothing to hide and people are already comparing him to Johnny.
“If it were like them (Johnny-Amber), that we could show, everyone could understand and see. But it’s not happening in India. And for Johnny Depp, it took him 6-7 years to do what they were doing. That was different. Sure, now that that case is being referred here, they call me Johnny and stuff, but the way we handle these things is very aggressive. You file 9 cases, 10 cases, 20 cases, I’m ready,” Karan told Siddharth Kannan during their interaction.
Karan also said this is an area he has never explored, but he has been in the system and learned about cases, drafting and interacting with lawyers. He recounted the 1,500 pages he had written about the suffering he had to bear at the hands of his estranged wife.
Recently, Karan had accused Nisha of having an extramarital affair with her Rakhi brother. However, Nisha said she is not accountable to anyone and claimed that Karan does not want to take any financial responsibility for their son.
While staying in Kangana Ranaut hosted the reality show Lock Upp, Nisha had confessed to kissing her close friend while she was married. She also spoke about a miscarriage and her trauma after going through all of this. She had also informed Karan the same day, but the latter did not take this positively.
