What is it about

Siddhu (Nithiin) falls for a girl Swathi (Krithi Shetty) on the beach and like any other boy, he tries to pick up on her. As he struggles to find her address, he finds her near him. One fine day he realizes that she has left for her hometown of Macherla and goes to the same place to propose to her. Siddhu, having passed his civil service exams, is appointed as the collector of the Guntur district. When Nithiin reaches Macherla, he learns that Swathi’s life is in danger because of Rajappa (Samuthirakani), Macherla’s ruthless goon. Siddhu now has to hold elections in Macherla, while Rajappa is against it. Will Siddhu save Swathi from Rajappa and make sure the elections are held as Collector?

what’s hot

Nithiin’s performance is good enough to enjoy. The production values are high and the producers have left no stone unturned to ensure that the film is rich in values. Krithi Shetty plays a damsel in distress in this film and her performance is worth watching. Rajendra Prasad, Murali Sharma, Catherine Tresa, Brahmaji and others who played supporting roles have done their part justice.

The director came up with a good concept and decor with definitely a social message. He talks about the importance of an ordinary man and his vote during the elections and the future of the country. Music and background music are good and the songs sound great. Nithiin looks dashing and handsome in this movie. His costumes after taking charge as a collector are impressive.

What not

The screenplay and story are boring. The entire first half of the film is meant to show the hero becoming a collector just before intermission. The hero’s introduction begins with a fight and ends with a song. These kinds of routine screens and raises are part of thousands of movies till now and Macherla Niyojakavargam is none other than them.

The writing style could have been a lot better in the first half to avoid some boring scenes that don’t make sense for the movie. The second half is entertaining. Director has written some valuable dialogues that make sense to the audience and some nice songs too. Duplicate roles of Samuthirakani (playing father Rajappa and son Veera) could have been avoided.

BL verdict

This movie is worth your attention and time if you can ignore a few boring moments. I’m going with 3 out of 5 stars.

Rating : 3 off 5
