MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

In a statement from Curtis in a press release, The haunted house star explained that she has been working on the story for many years:

I first thought about this story when I was 19 years old. I have always been aware of the very unbalanced relationship between man and nature, and although I was young I always knew that nature would inevitably win. I’ve long admired and collected Karl’s work, and I’m really excited that he suggested expanding on the idea and turning it into a graphic novel. The partnership with Titan has now given us a wonderful platform to tell our story.

Stevens, the cartoonist behind it Penny: A Graphic Memoir, said he was impressed with the depth of the characters in Curtis’s debut graphic novel. “I was immediately blown away by the depth of the characters, the perfect mix of action and gore, the urgent ecological message and how all of these things would translate beautifully into a graphic novel,” Stevens said in the press release. “It’s a pleasure and privilege to work with Titan Comics and Blumhouse on this project. I’m producing the best work of my career!”

Following the official announcement, Stevens also tweeted some work-in-progress images from the upcoming comic.
