Speaking of the summons, Noah turned his attention to the January 6 congressional committee, which has now issued a new summons to speak with Trump.
“Finally,” said Noah. “How are they deciding this right now? It’s like investigating a whole murder and then on the last day it’s like, ‘Should we talk to the killer?'”
While many believe that despite the summons, Trump will not testify before the committee, Noah argued that the former president may be tempted to take the stand for a reason.
“On the one hand, yes, he thinks it is a devious witch hunt that is out to get him. But on the other hand, the ratings,” said Noah. “Can you imagine the ratings? It’ll be like Super Bowl meets Watergate meets ‘Game of Thrones’ sexual harassment video from a compulsive HR video. Everyone will be watching.”
