UPDATED with the latest results: The 2022 FIFA World Cup concluded its quarter-finals on Saturday in Qatar, where the last of four teams secured a place in the semi-finals of the world’s biggest sporting tournament.

France beat England today and Morocco upset Portugal to secure a place in the last four. They join Croatia, who are upsetting pre-tournament favorites Brazil, and Argentina, who are behind Leo Messi, both promoted on Friday.

France now meet Morocco, the first African team to advance to a World Cup semifinals, on Tuesday. France meets Croatia in a repeat of the 2018 World Cup final on Wednesday. Both games kick off at 2pm ET/11am PT and will be broadcast in the US on Fox, Telemundo and Peacock.

The World Cup final is on Sunday, April 18.

SO FAR, November 20th: The FIFA World Cup in Qatar kicks off on Sunday with an official opening ceremony leading into the first match, hosts Qatar against Ecuador, opening the month-long tournament showcasing the world’s most popular sport.

In the US, Fox Sports has the English language rights to the 32-team tournament, with all 64 games being broadcast live on Fox and Fox Sports 1, as well as streaming on the Fox Sports App. Telemundo has US Spanish language rights, meaning all games will be streamed live through NBCUniversal’s Telemundo, Universo and Peacock (the only US streaming service to broadcast this year’s games), as well as TelemundoDeportes.com and the app Telemundo Deportes to be broadcast. The tournament is also available on FuboTV.

The unusual winter tournament (rescheduled from its traditional early summer tournament every four years due to the summer heat in the Arabian Peninsula) features three round-robin group stages before the top two teams in each group advance to the knockout rounds, which are played in the december start 3

The finals will take place on Sunday, December 18 at 10:00 a.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT at Lusail Stadium, one of eight built by the host city at a cost of approximately $10 billion. Each of the stadiums is within a 35-mile radius of the center of the capital, Doha, providing a compact travel option for fans and teams.

In terms of teams, all three US games in Group B will be broadcast on Fox at 2pm ET/11am PT: the opening Monday, November 21 at Al Rayyan vs Wales; v England on Black Friday 25 November at Al Khor; and against Iran on Tuesday 29 November in Doha.

In all, the 32 teams include defending champions France as well as current world No. 1 Brazil, who have the most in history with five World Cup wins. Germany has four titles, as does Italy, by far the largest team not to qualify for this World Cup.

Other favorites to keep an eye on are England and Argentina, the latter of which has what may be the greatest player of all time, Lionel Messi, playing what he says will be his final World Cup. Also look out for Belgium, Uruguay, the Netherlands and African champions Senegal to make some noise. Joining the USA from their CONCACAF region are rivals Mexico, Canada and Costa Rica.

Outside of the games, Fox Sports will broadcast 98 hours of studio programming from Doha, including his FIFA World Cup live Show starting at 4:00am ET on Fox or FS1 through the first eight days of the tournament and moving to 9:00am ET thereafter. There are also FIFA World Cup todayto air between games, and FIFA World Cup tonightwhich will air on Fox every night of the tournament at midnight in all time zones.

Fox talent includes Rob Stone and Kate Abdo, who host at the studio, along with analysts including US veterans Clint Dempsey, Carli Lloyd and Maurice Edu, England’s Eni Aluko and Kelly Smith, and former NFL star Chad Johnson.

The play-by-play and analyst teams that name games for Fox Sports include executive duo John Strong and Stu Holden, who will name the US games and Finals. They are joined by Derek Rae and Aly Wagner, JP Dellacamera and Cobi Jones, Ian Darke and Landon Donovan, and Jacqui Oatley and Warren Barton.

The acquisition of Telemundo includes its Hoy en la Copaa 30-minute daily preview and recap show, along with an A-list of ex-players joining in for coverage and analysis, including Carlos Hermosillo, Fernando Hierro, Mauro Silva, Claudio Borghi and Diego Forlán, as well as presenter plays-by-play -Announcer Andres Cantor, who will name the main gaims (including the US) with Manuel Sol and former US star Tab Ramos.
