Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan’s film Vikram Vedha got off to a slow start at the box office on Friday. After collecting Rs. 10.58 crores on its opening day, the film has seen an upward move on its second day. Some trends and sample analyzes point to a jump in the 25% to 30% range on Saturday, with early estimates in the range of €13.25 to 13.75 crore. Vikram Vedha’s two-day total stands at approx. €24 crores and it will target a weekend of Rs. 40 million dollars.

The jump has come in the multiplexes, while the mass bands are more or less in the same range as the first day. Multiplexes are up 35 percent, while mass centers, or single screens, are down about 5-7 percent, bringing the growth rate to around 25%. The jump in metros is a good sign for the long term, but it is important for Vikram Vedha to consolidate this growth on Sunday as well.

Another jump on Sunday, followed by a healthy trend after that, will allow the film to stay low until Diwali in the coming weeks. Vikram Vedha’s goal with this zone of opening should be a century in the long run as that would also put them in the bracket of respectable biz, although the final result would remain low in all respects.

Vikram Vedha reports in critics and the public is quite positive and this gives some hope for long term livelihood. The opening is low, and second-day business is also low by Hrithik Roshan’s standards, but it’s not quite a lost battleground yet.
