Wakanda Forever Challenge tries to raise money for children’s hospital in the name of Chadwick Boseman

Chadwick Boseman often visited sick children in the hospital, and a new Go Fund Me campaign is about to raise money for such a hospital.

Chadwick Boseman inspired many people during his lifetime, and after his untimely death in 2020 he has continued to do so in many ways. Film critic Emmanuel Noisette proved this by setting up the #WakandaForeverChallenge, with the goal of raising $5,000 for St Jude’s Research Hospital, a place Boseman often visited to meet children being treated for cancer and after just one day the GoFundMe page has reached almost half of its goal.

Chadwick Boseman’s life and career were tragically cut short when the actor died after battling colon cancer. While his death touched many, his legacy has persisted, especially when it comes to the Black Panther name. Now, film critic Noisette has harnessed Boseman’s power to raise money for one of the places where he was a true hero to the sick children he met there. On the GoFundMe page, the story behind the call reads:

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

“Chadwick’s courage is exactly why I’m starting this new #WakandaForeverChallenge. By raising money, we can continue Chadwick’s work to bring hope and support to the children battling cancer in the care of St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital. Every donation helps to make an impact. The lovely people at St Jude’s are at the forefront of treating and beating childhood cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Your donation will also help the families of those children, as St Jude never bills the family for treatment, travel, housing or food they worry about saving their child’s life.

About 1 in 285 children will develop cancer before they are 20 years old. In the same year that Black Panther was released, 17,293 children were diagnosed with cancer in the US – about 47 children a day. So if you’re a fan of the Black Panther franchise, Chadwick Boseman, or if you love kids and hate cancer, please consider donating to this charity. “

“It just felt like it was way too early to rearrange. Stan Lee always said Marvel represents the world outside your window. And we talked about how extraordinary and fantastic our characters and stories are, there’s a recognizable and human element is in everything we do. The world is still processing the loss of Chad. And Ryan has poured that into the story.”

The recent synopsis for the Black Panther sequel reads: “In Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther: Wakanda forever,Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the aftermath of The Death of King T’Challa.
