Jennifer Lopez is back on the big screen with Shotgun Wedding, a romantic comedy with a strong emphasis on action. The film has a star-studded cast, with a trailer full of laughter and a big twist. Shotgun Wedding comes from Jason Moore, the director behind the much-loved 2012 comedy Pitch Perfect. This will be Moore’s first feature film since sistersa 2015 comedy starring Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph.
The trailer kicks off the humdrum Hollywood romantic comedy tropes before things get completely messed up. The title, Shotgun Wedding, certainly fits the premise, as there will be enough action, gunfights and tension to keep the audience on the edge of their seats. The official synopsis of the film reads:
“In Shotgun Wedding, Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (Josh Duhamel) gather their sweet but very stubborn families for the ultimate destination wedding just when the couple starts to get cold feet. And as if that wasn’t enough of a threat to the If it When the party is taken hostage, everyone’s lives are suddenly in danger when the entire party is held hostage.’Til Death Do Us Part’ takes on a whole new meaning in this hilarious, adrenaline-fuelled adventure where Darcy and Tom must save their loved ones – if they don’t. don’t kill each other first.”

Shotgun Wedding stars Jennifer Coolidge, Josh Duhamel, D’Arcy Carden, Melissa Hunter, Callie Hernandez, Cheech Marin, Lenny Kravitz, Steve Coulter and Sonia Braga alongside Lopez. Mark Hammer wrote the script, with the most notable work being: Stand for two nights with Miles Teller and Lio Tipton. Prime Video may very well have another hit on its hands, with Shotgun Wedding next year on January 27, 2023 on the popular streaming service.
Josh Duhamel has a lot of praise for his co-star
Josh Duhamel has a lot of experience in Hollywood and has starred in movies like Transformers, Safe haven, Friends gamesand Love Simon. But despite his illustrious career, Duhamel was still blown away by his co-star Jennifer Lopez. During an interview with ExtraTVthe 49-year-old actor said shoot Shotgun Wedding was ‘like a dream’.
“It was like a dream, man, it was so much fun. I knew it [Jennifer Lopez] for a long time and so we got into lockstep very quickly. She was just such a great partner in this movie, such a professional, she was all involved, she loved the process and she really had a great time in the movie. And Lenny Kravitz, you know he’s the rock star that he is, he couldn’t have been a nicer guy. He really couldn’t. He is great.”
Hopefully the cast has excellent chemistry, as Duhamel says, because the movie looks like it could be a lot of fun. Once again, Shotgun Wedding arrives on Prime Video early next year on January 27.
