Shamita Shetty and Raqesh Bapat left their ShaRa fans heartbroken after recently announcing their split on social media. In their statement, they asked their fans to continue to support them as individuals, just as they had loved them as a couple. The two recently said that they are now in a good space and would love to be friends and be happy instead of screwing things up together.
“We are now in a good space. We’ve had a long journey and when you finally get something you don’t want to waste, and yes, things work, things don’t work, it’s life. Everyone goes through that,” Raqesh told Pinkvilla, adding that he has learned “resilience and tolerance towards many things” from the relationship.
Shamita added: “We are not like teenagers, we are two grown people who understand the situation. We understand each other and I think we both decided together what we were doing and that we’d rather be friends and be happy individually than screw things up,” she said.
Earlier, Shamita had said in her statement: “I think it’s important to make this clear. Raqesh and I are not together anymore and haven’t been together for a while, but this beautiful music video is for all the fans who have given us so much … love and support. Continue to shower us as individuals with your love too. To positivity and newer horizons. Love and gratitude to all of you.”
Shamita and Raqesh met at the Bigg Boss OTT house and they developed feelings for each other. From supporting each other on tasks to dinner in the garden, the two won hearts from their fans. But their romance was short-lived.
