,the walking deadended its eleven-season run with its series finale on 20 November and is still at the top in the minds of viewers in December with 50.82 times the average series demand. “The Walking Dead” franchise looks perfectly set up for success, even after the end of the original series. Multiple spinoffs either already exist or are scheduled for release. However, only the original series is available to stream on Netflix, so this may be the last time Netflix benefits from demand for this massive franchise from AMC.

,Flashwas the fifth most sought-after show available on Netflix so far last month. It is not currently airing any episodes and the ninth and final season is set to premiere on February 8. With the end of “The Flash” on the horizon, “The Walking Dead” recently ended, and “Better Call Saul” looming. Rearview Mirror, Linear TV are ending three of Netflix’s most valuable assets. This can be a risk for streamers, who may either have to find other content from linear channels or fill the gap with their own original series.
“Bullet Train” was the most sought-after film to stream on Netflix in the first half of December by a wide margin. It was demanded 49.72 times compared to the average film, placing it in the top 0.2% of films by demand. This was more than twice the demand of the second film on Netflix, “The Bad Guys”, which averaged 24.96 times.

The success of “Wednesday” benefited the entire “Addams Family” franchise. “Addams Family Values” was the fourth most requested movie on Netflix, with an average request of 21.26 times. The film “The Addams Family” also saw an increase in demand, although it did not make the top 10 with only 14.8 times the average demand. This is a great example of Netflix harnessing the power of franchising by reinvigorating existing IP, as opposed to building a franchise from the ground up.
