Gael GarcÍa Bernal is about to reach another level of stardom, if Werewolf at night will catapult the actor’s fame. Of course, Bernal has already seen a lot of success in Hollywood, but working with Marvel and Disney will undoubtedly push his popularity to heights he has not yet seen. Diego Luna has already seen what Disney could do for him when he first appeared in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story back in 2016.
Luna would get his own Disney+ series, Andoro, focusing on his character before the events of the theatrical film, which currently debuts every Wednesday. During an interview with The Hollywood ReporterBernal spoke about his close friendship with Luna and how the actor Bernal learned to navigate the great fame of being in a big Disney hotel.
“We’re Doing Something” [Hulu’s La Máquina] now together, and so we always have a little bit of contact with each other. It was great,” explains Bernal. “He was also a reference point to help me. When we were at the D23 conference, he was the one who explained to me what happened because it was my first time. It was very crazy. But it was fascinating to be around all those other projects and people, and it was incredible to do a press conference and press trip with all those different movies and TV series.” Bernal continues: “I wish all premieres were so where the films and series are combined. So it was great to have a good friend who went through something similar as well.”

Werewolf at night has quickly become one of the most well-received projects in Marvel’s Phase 4, the big reason being the performance of Gael GarcÍa Bernal. His portrayal of Jack Russell/Werewolf by Night has left fans wanting more, as the entry was truly unique in the MCU. Bernal co-directs the Halloween special with Laura Donnelly as Elsa Bloodstone, and the audience hopes they return to the connected universe.
Of course, it can be challenging to implement the characters in movies like the avengers or main projects.
