Sunil Grover, popularly known as Dr Mashoor Gulati and Gutthi, celebrates its 45th birthday today! Yes, one of India’s most beloved comedians in the country. He has recently explored himself as an artist and it took a lot of strength and courage to break out of a comedian’s mold for him. Sunil Grover was even told that he had a really funny image for experimenting with different roles in the industry. However, Sunil did not listen and believed in himself. This is why he is going to be part of Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara starrer jawan.
Sunil Grover was told ‘You have a funny image’
Sunil always makes headlines in the world of news for various reasons. In his recent interview, Sunil Grover was asked if his comedic image has ever affected his chances of landing various roles. Sunil Grover is known for his characters of Dr. Mashoor Gultati and Gutthi. For years Sunil entertained everyone with his period as a comedian. The actor said he thought the same in his early days. Sunil shared that he thought it just got popular since he worked on the characters. But he didn’t know the impact of that. However, he added that his male characters have also been accepted by the public. Sunil was seen in a very different avatar in Tandav. Then he remembered being told he had a funny image. “There have been times when people say, ‘You have a funny image, what if people laugh at your performance,'” Sunil was told. But the actor persisted. Even he had his doubts, but he knew deep down he could do it (portraying roles other than comedy) if given the chance.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Sunil Grover has Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara starrer Jawan at the helm of Atlee. The film also stars Yogi Babu, Sanya Malhotra and Priyamani just to name a few.
