William Jackson Harper Joins Ant-Man 3 in Mysterious Role

Days after the release of a new trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, another addition to the cast has been revealed. Per Varietyit appears that William Jackson Harper also has a part in the film, although the character he plays is kept under wraps. At this point, let the fans speculate who he might play in the upcoming sequel, but since he’s not featured in the recent trailer, it could be that he’s an important character whose introduction is kept as a surprise for the film.


Harper recently starred in the Peacock comedy series The resort and the HBO series love life. He has also been nominated for an Emmy for his role in the NBC series the right place. Last year he co-starred with Aya Cash in the comedy We broke up following roles in other movies like Midsommar, dark watersand Lost vacation. While he hasn’t officially joined a superhero tent pole yet, there were fans who hoped he’d be cast when it was reported that a movie following a Black Superman was in the works and that Ta-Nehisi Coates was writing the script.

“It absolutely blinded me,” Harper said of the fantasy casting on Jimmy Kimmel Live last year. “I did another interview and this guy said, ‘Yeah, this has 55,000 likes,’ and I thought, ‘What? Why? Who knows me?’ But that would be dope, that would be the best thing that could happen to me, playing Superman. [But] I don’t want to do the diet and the exercise.”

The recent trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania also revealed a first look at Bill Murray joining the MCU along with Harper, but it’s also still not exactly clear who he’ll be playing. They are part of a cast that also includes Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Newton, Randall Park and Jonathan Majors.
