Women in Film announced the talent behind Universal Pictures’ upcoming “She Said” — actress Carey Mulligan, producer Dede Gardener and the book’s original authors Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey — as the 2022 winners for WIF “Forging Honors.” forward”.
Announced Thursday, the “She Said” contributors will join previously revealed winners Quinta Brunson, Gina Prince-Bythewood, Katie Silberman and Olivia Wilde at the WIF Honors, held Oct. 27 at The Beverly Hilton. and will be hosted by actress Da’Vine Joy. Randolph.
Journalists Kantor and Twohey won the Pulitzer Prize in Public Service in 2018 for revealing the story of Harvey Weinstein’s decades-long sexual abuse allegations in his explosive report with the New York Times.
Mulligan will play the role of Twohey in the upcoming “She Said” alongside Zoe Kazan, who will play Kantor. After first appearing in “An Education,” Mulligan, a two-time Oscar nominee, starred in “Promising Young Woman” and “Spaceman,” and participated in initiatives such as the Alzheimer’s Society, the Society’s Dementia Awareness Week and serves as an ambassador for War Child, an organization that helps children affected by conflict.
Producer Gardener is co-chairman of Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B and has produced such films as Barry Jenkins’s “If Beale Street Could Talk,” Adam McKay’s “The Big Short,” Ava DuVernay’s “Selma” and “12 Years Steve McQueen’s. a slave.”
The event, which is themed “Moving Forward,” will also award Michaela Coel with the Jane Fonda Humanitarian Award and Lili Reinhart will receive the WIF Max Mara Face of the Future Award. Viola Davis, Jane Fonda and Sheryl Lee Ralph will attend the event as presenters.
