‘XO, Kitty’ star couple breaks up on Kitty and Dey’s breakup

It turns out that Kitty and Day are not made for each other.

After overcoming the obstacles of a fake relationship that leads Kitty (Anna Cathcart) to believe that Day has cheated on her, Kitty reveals some secrets that make Day (Minyeong Choi) doubt that he can trust her. Is. The pair overcame all of these and other minor miscommunications in Netflix’s “XO, Kitty,” but once that spark was struck, Kitty couldn’t get over her developing crush on Yuri (Gia Kim). The girls go from enemies to friends, bound by their mother’s friendship, and Kitty can’t hide her growing attraction to Yuri, so she tells Day the truth.

Day heads to the airport, determined to fight for Kitty before she leaves for semester break. She is also fired from KISS, meaning she can never return to Korea. Kitty and Dee’s emotional embrace at the KISS welcome dance brings their story full circle from when Kitty first surprised Dee.

,[Dae] Always try to win someone’s heart or do some work with honesty, nothing else. He knows how important love is, how important friendship is, and how important family is,” Choi told TheWrap. “Sometimes, [his] Honesty may not be as powerful as you thought. Sometimes you need a smart way to express and use it, but you should still have it.

Kitty finalizes the breakup when she tells Day that he will always be the first boy she ever loved. Acknowledging “love” in the past tense, the DA retorts and says he will always root for Kitty no matter what happens.

,[Their relationship] must teach [Kitty] Very. He was the first person she was ever in a relationship with, and no matter what happens in the future, that’s not going to change. she is untouchable. I love the scene at the end of the airport when they express this to each other. Whatever happens, it doesn’t matter how special it was and how much it impacted who they became,” Cathcart told TheWrap. “I think it’s a topic that a lot of people haven’t talked about before. love and youth can be related to love, that things may change later, or you may grow out of it, or it may not be right for the time, but how important it was when it was right that really well, doesn’t take it away.

Besides Yuri, Kitty learns of another potential suitor when Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee) admits he’s somewhat in love with her throughout their time in KISS. In classic, dramatic Min Ho style, he says this just before his plane takes off for Portland, and Kitty doesn’t respond, though she looks thoughtful. Then the show ends.

“I think Kitty is in a place where she needs to give herself the space to figure out who she is and what she wants. It’s not that Day was necessarily backing away from her, but I think he needs to be with himself right now and focus on his relationship with Kitty,” Cathcart said. “Going forward, there are so many possibilities! There are so many things that could happen. I’m dying to see what she looks like, but I’m the team that picks Kitty because I think she can be whatever she is.” She follows her heart and does what she feels is right for the moment, which I hope she never loses.”
