Popular TV actress Kaveri Priyam who played the role of Kuhu in her debut show, Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, recently spoke about the casting couch. The actress played a negative role on her debut show, but instead of being typecast, she waited for a positive lead on her next. Soon, Kaveri Ziddi picked up Dil Maane Na in which she played the role of Dr Monami.
In a recent interview with ETimes TV, Kaveri spoke out about the struggle she had to fight to survive in the industry. She even revealed a casting couch incident. Kaveri said she came to Mumbai and had no one to accompany her. She had tough times during the audition phase, as people told her that other actresses become stars by taking shorter routes. She even revealed how she made up excuses that her mother was waiting for her and left the place. She even revealed that a casting director made her an indecent proposal and she cried her heart out. She was quoted saying “kya sach mein log aise shortcuts leke aage badhte hain”. She even said that her family accompanied her and told her to go for real auditions.
Kaveri revealed that she got a lot of rejections before grabbing her debut show. Kaveri even talked about the trolls she faced that gave her a hard time. She said she was very upset at first because fans think she plays a negative role and she should be the same in real life too. She hated her and posted negative comments on social media and that had a lot to do with her.
