Unlike the one season show 1883the following Yellowstone spin-off 1923 will not be a limited series. Deadline reports that 101 Studios and MTV Entertainment have formally renewed the spin-off for a second season on Paramount+, and the plan is to return the same cast members, at least for those whose characters make it to the end. Like the planned freshman season, Season 2 will consist of eight episodes, bringing the total number of episodes at the moment to 16.
As has been reported, 1923 with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. It is said that the series will mainly focus on the construction of the Yellowstone Ranch, and as it progresses, it looks like there will be more story to tell with the show. When the show was first announced it was called 1932 before the title takes it back another decade, but with this revamp, the story may end in the 1930s. This is consistent with additional information in the Deadline report noting: Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan is also working on separate spin-offs that will detail the family’s struggles to keep the ranch in the 1940s and 1960s.
The first spin-off to come was 1883 which premiered on Paramount+ in December. Featuring an all-star cast including Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Sam Elliott, the limited series explored how the Duttons arrived in the area where the Yellowstone Ranch was to be built. The spin-off was critically acclaimed and attracted a lot of viewers, and it all leads to a lot more of the universe being fleshed out in the coming years; yet another spin-off called 6666was also announced, it would take place in the present.
Yellowstone continues its fifth season
Even with so much work put into spin-offs, Yellowstone series continues on its own. The anticipated fifth season is coming to Paramount Network next month, after the fourth season finale drew 10 million viewers. Season 5 kicks off with a two-hour premiere prior to the series premiere of Tulsa Kinganother Sheridan-made series starring Sylvester Stallone.
“If you see everyone as a chess piece, it’s impossible in Season 5 to keep playing the game without taking pieces off the board,” Sheridan said earlier. Entertainment tonight about what lies ahead, teasing some major character deaths in the next season.
Yellowstone will debut its fifth season on November 13, 2022 on Paramount Network. 1923 has not set a premiere date on Paramount+ yet.
