Dar-Benn, a lesser-known member of the Kree, was introduced to the Marvel world in the 1990s as part of a Silver surfer story. Not much is really known about the character, which should give The Marvels and Ashton plenty of room to create their own intergalactic supervillain. Featured prominently in the recent trailer, Dar-Benn is seen with both an Accuser’s hammer similar to that of Guardians of the Galaxy villain Ronan, and a bracelet similar to Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel. Taking on a villain with such a powerful arsenal is sure to require the combined strength of Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Ms. Marvel.

Seeing the trio team up for the first time is sure to be exciting for Marvel fans, with Marvel Studios President comparing the impact of seeing The miracles together to see nothing less The Avengers to assemble. “[The Marvels is] pick it up right after the end of Captain Marvel 1, not in the timeline but in the story. That’s what we’re doing in our upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion, which are two very different sequels to that movie,” Feige said. “Toonally, they couldn’t be more different. But there’s something immensely powerful about seeing Monica, Kamala, and Carol framed together. To me, it’s only akin to the first Avengers movie and seeing the six of them together in one frame. It’s chill-inducing. They are so great together, and they all have different histories with each other.”

Directed by Nia DaCosta from a screenplay by Megan McDonnell, The miracles stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Zawe Ashton as Dar-Benn alongside Samuel L. Jackson. The likes of Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff and Mohan Kapur will reprise their respective roles of Ms. Marvel with Park Seo-joon also joining the fray.

The miracles is scheduled for release in the United States on November 10, 2023, as part of Phase Five of the MCU.
