Zelda Williams completes shooting for first feature film Lisa Frankenstein

That’s a wrap on Lisa Frankensteinthe upcoming movie that serves as the director’s feature film debut Zelda Williams. It was previously reported that Williams would direct the film after some acting and helping the short film Shrimp. It was reported that Williams was set for the next take on Lisa Frankenstein for Focus Features with production in New Orleans.


On Monday, Williams shared a photo of the cast and crew together for a photo taken from the set. The filmmaker also announced that filming has officially been completed while the post-production process has begun. Williams also thanked everyone in the photo for the hard work they put into the film together.

Williams’ tweet follows an earlier revelation that cast member Liza Soberano had also filmed her scenes in the film, marking her own feature film debut as an actress. A photo from her last day on set was also shared on social media with Soberano, along with Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse.

Located in 1989, Lisa Frankenstein follows an unpopular high school student (Newton) who accidentally resuscitates a handsome Victorian corpse (Sprouse) during a thunderstorm and begins to rebuild him into the man of her dreams, using the broken tanning bed in her garage.

Diablo Cody wrote the screenplay. In addition to Cody, Mason Novick will also produce with Jeffrey Lampert as executive producer.

Lisa Frankenstein doesn’t have a premiere date yet.
