“This used to be such a beautiful, quiet town. But that was before all zombies. When twelve-year-old Mike and his friend Karen go to a horror movie called Zombie Town, the last thing they expect is for the title characters to come off the screen and chase them through the theater. And it’s not popcorn these hungry creatures want to chew – it’s human brains!

“Now Mike and Karen frantically try to flee through the panicked streets of their hometowns before turning every last civilian into a voracious carnivore through the shuffling groups of zombies. But if Mike thinks he’s safe once he gets to his house and warns Mom and Dad, he’d better think again. When the zombies say it’s lunchtime, no house is safe! Zombie Town is RL Stine’s delightfully spooky take on the horror genre that is infecting the world bit by bit.”

Peter Lepeniotis will serve as the director of the film, which has recently started filming in Ontario. Marlon Kazadi and Madi Monroe will play the teenage main characters. Scott Thompson, Bruce McCulloch and Henry Czerny can also be seen in the film. What they’ve done before

Aykroyd and Chase, true friends who worked on it Saturday Night Live in the early years they worked on four films together. The first was Spies like us (1985), about two bumbling American agents who think they are spies, but can’t be wrong anymore. Family man would later come out with an entire episode parodiing the film, with Aykroyd and Chase guest-starring for themselves.

The next was Caddyshack II (1988), a film that is exactly about what the original caddyshack about, only far from being considered the comedy classic that was the first. In fact, it’s considered by several people to be one of the worst sequels ever made. Chase is the only actor to take his role from the original.

The third is The couch trip (1988), although Aykroyd played the main character, Chase only appeared in a cameo. The film’s premise involves an escaped convict, played by Aykroyd, who assumes the identity of his doctor and takes over his practice and radio show. Other actors who appeared in the film are Walter Matthau, Charles Grodin and Donna Dixon.

The last one was Nothing but trouble (1991), a horror comedy starring Demi Moore and John Candy. Aykroyd wrote, directed and starred in the film, which centers on a businessman who is ambushed by a sadistic judge and his equally bizarre family. Nothing but trouble was a huge bomb critically and financially when it was first released, but it has attracted a number of defenders over the years.

In 2012, the duo tried to get a separate project off the ground again, leading to Aykrody writing this via Facebook:

“Chevy (Chase) and I are about to embark on a script concept for a comedy film. I can’t say too much about the concept, but the pleasure of working with him again is one that I am extremely excited about. Chevy is one of my favorite people, and one of the great anarchic and physically committed comedians in the business.”
