This Diwali has changed a lot, in fact, for the first time after Covid we see new releases appear on the screen unhindered, compared to the last Diwali when Sooryavanshi reached screens with a 50% occupancy restriction. The two releases Thank God and Ram Setu take full advantage of the extended holiday weekend this year. While the first features Sidharth Malhotra and Ajay Devgn, the second headlines Akshay Kumar. But which of the two vastly different films will manage to capture the public’s attention is the question. In the domestic market, Akshay starrer Ram Setu has taken the lead at the box office, with Thank God close behind.

On the other hand, in the UK overseas market, it is the Sidharth Malhotra – Ajay Devgn starrer Thank God who is in charge. Collect USD 19,472 [Rs. 15.97 lakhs] from 83 screens, the film has taken a lead over Ram Setu, who grossed $16,595 [Rs. 13.61 lakhs] from 95 screens on day 1. Surprisingly, despite a higher screen count, Ram Setu seems to be lagging behind, but given the positive feedback the film has received from the public, it is likely to grow in the coming day.

As of now, Thank God, which has received good reviews from audiences and critics, is likely to remain strong with a good increase in collections on the map, while Ram Setu will have to rely on positive word of mouth in the future. Nevertheless, as both releases take full advantage of the extended weekend, it is likely that both releases will see a huge increase in sales.
