The two new releases Ram Setu and Thank God appeared on Diwali yesterday. With both films featuring vastly different content and stars, audiences seem to have choice in the theaters. But out of the two releases, which would eventually become the leader, is the question. In the domestic market, Akshay Kumar starrer Ram Setu has led the way in collecting Rs. 15.25 cr, while the Sidharth Malhotra – Ajay Devgn starrer thank goodness is not far behind at Rs. 8.10 cr.

However, in the US overseas market, Akshay Kumar starrer Ram Setu, which saw a wide release across 318 screens, has taken the lead. Collect USD 34,716 [Rs. 28.47 lakhs] the film surpasses the Sidharth Malhotra – Ajay Devgn starrer Thank God who managed to raise $24,734 [Rs. 20.28 lakhs] from 196 screens.
In Canada’s overseas market, both new releases Thank God and Ram Setu seem to be neck and neck at the box office. While the Sidharth Malhotra – Ajay Devgn starrer grossed $15,624 [Rs. 12.82 lakhs] from 32 screens the Akshay Kumar starrer managed to collect $13.614 [Rs. 11.16 lakhs] from 36 screens.
