Filmmaker Karan Johar is back on the coffee bench! Season 7 of Koffee With Karan kicked off on Disney+ Hotstar with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, followed by actresses Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan as guests in the second episode. As the crowds around the show mounted, the Koffee With Karan couch saw Akshay Kumar and Samantha Ruth Prabhu deliver a lively pot of glamour, secrets and witty one-liners.
Koffee With Karan 7: Akshay Kumar Recalls How He Bought His Flat After Jaani Dushman: ‘I Made More Money Because Sunny Deol Couldn’t Come’
In the talk show, the actor talked about doing a 7 hero movie and that was Jaani Dushman. Talking about how his character comes back from the dead and how hilarious it was to watch it, the actor said: “I was working on a daily basis and there was a scene where the villain kills me and I’m dead. I learned that the other hero who is now going to act, got stuck in New York and couldn’t make it in time, I went to the director and asked him if I should come back again.” The actor was Sunny Deol and he was incarcerated due to a health problem.
“You won’t believe where I’m staying today, I needed money to buy that place, and Jaani Dushman gave me the money to buy my house,” he joked. Karan and Samantha couldn’t stop laughing.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar will next be seen in Aanand L Rai’s next direction, Raksha Bandhan. The film will be released on August 11.
