Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar gears up for his third release of the year, Raksha Bandhan. This marks his second collaboration with filmmaker Aanand L Rai na Atrangi Re, last year. Following the releases of Bachchhan Paandey and Samrat Prithvirajboth of which failed at the box office, talks started about the actor’s lack of commitment to one project as he makes 3-4 movies a year.
Akshay Kumar responds to claims he doesn’t commit to movies: ‘My 8 hours equals 14-15 hours of another star’
Akshay Kumar responded, recently saying that he has been following the same pattern since the beginning of his career and people have often told him to slow down. “Many people are bothered by the lack of large cash register numbers and such people believe that things need to change. Throughout my career, especially during my early days, people have asked me why I work on four films in a year. People have always asked me to slow down and reduce the number of films I act or produce,” he told E-Times.
“Let me tell you that I take the maximum number of vacations for any individual in the film industry. I never work on Sundays. I always work half a day on Saturdays. Aanand L Rai also commented on this, telling me that my work culture his perception of working has changed I only spend 8 hours on a movie set during the day but I don’t spend a single minute of those 8 hours in a vanity van I am always on the floor of the movie set My 8 hours equals 14 -15 hours from another star. That’s my dedication to the movies,” he added.
The actor is currently promoting Raksha Bandhan. Directed by Aanand L Rai, produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma in association with Zee Studios, Alka Hiranandani and Cape of Good Films, written by Himanshu Sharma & Kanika Dhillon, the music of Raksha Bandhan is composed by Himesh Reshammiya and lyrics are by Irshad Kamil.
Raksha Bandhan Starring Bhumi Pednekar, Akshay Kumar, Neeraj Sood, Seema Pahwa, Sadia Khateeb, Abhilash Thapliyal, Deepika Khanna, Smrithi Srikanth and Sahejmeen Kaur is slated for release on August 11, 2022.
