8 Mythical Quest (2020 – present)
Mythical quest is a comedy from the creators of It’s always sunny in Philadelphia. It follows a fictional game development company who must work together to expand and improve their game, but of course chaos often ensues. An ensemble comedy, Mythical quest develops interesting characters, with different motivations, who must work together to achieve the same goal. The workplace comedy is a bit of a tired genre, but Mythical quest breathes new life into the genre by bringing the genre into a newer and popular, but still unfamiliar working environment.
Game development is a newer career and so many don’t consider it a regular 9-5. Mythical quest humanizes game development and developers while getting great comedy out of it at the same time. Mythical quest has aired for three seasons and two special episodes, and Apple TV+ has renewed it for season four. If you’re looking for a new comedy, now’s the time to watch Mythical quest.
7 Schmigadoon! (2021 – present)
One of the funniest shows on Apple TV+, Schmigadoon! is a musical parody. Based on a large number of musicals from the 1940s and 1950s, and taken from the title brigadethis show puts a modern spin on them all. Schmigadoon! follows a troubled couple who go on a walking tour to mend their relationship when they stumble across a magical town trapped in the Golden Age of musicals.
Not only does the show have a star-studded cast, but it also has great music and is light-heartedly funny. It has wide appeal, but is mainly for musical theater fans from far and wide, and it’s a show for theater kids, adults, and geeks alike. As the highly anticipated second season kicks off on April 5, 2023, we can enjoy the critically acclaimed and well-received first season of Schmigadoon!.
6 Shrink (2023)
Known for his comedic talent, Jason Segel has joined forces with some of the show’s patrons Ted Lasso to give us a fresh look at the world of therapy. They tinkered together Shrinka comedic drama about Jimmy Laird (Segal), a therapist grieving the loss of his wife and reconnecting with his daughter and patients.
Laird’s therapy practice takes a life-changing turn when he ignores the ethical barriers by expressing his unfiltered thoughts to his patients. A witty and comforting show about the transformative power – and potential dangers – of radical honesty, Shrink received generally favorable reviews and was renewed for a second season.
5 Bad Sisters (2022 – present)
This Irish black comedy, based on the Belgian thriller tribefollows the story of five sisters – Eva (Sharon Horgan), Grace (Anne-Marie Duff), Ursula (Eva Birthistle), Bibi (Sarah Greene) and Becka (Eve Hewson) – who take a vow to protect each other after their Losing parents in a car accident. When Grace’s abusive and controlling husband dies, detectives begin to suspect that the sisters may have been involved in a mysterious murder.

4 For All Humanity (2019 – present)
Following an alternate timeline of the Space Race between the US and USSR, For all humanity begs the question, what if the Space Race never ended? In the show, the Soviets reach the moon before the Americans. When this happens, the Americans refuse to give up and choose to keep trying to outdo their counterparts. Can women go to the moon? Families? Children? Could humans live on the moon? Episodes of For all humanity strive to answer all these questions and often do.
The second season was 100% Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes despite more minimal commercial success. Perhaps because of the critical acclaim, Apple continues to revamp the show as critics and fans keep coming back. If you like space and a little sci-fi then get ready for season four of For all humanity binging the first three seasons now.
3 Dickinson (2019 – 2021)
As one of the first shows to be released on the platform, Dickinson is one of Apple TV+s that has introduced the world to the streaming network’s unusual creative potential. Dickinson was also one of the best-written shows of Apple’s first batch of original programming, following famed poet Emily Dickinson as she navigated writing, sexuality, family, and the disintegration of the world she used to know. Emily Dickinson was a very secretive person when she was alive, and her work was not appreciated until after her death; Dickinson’s sexuality has long been a question, as she never married and lived with her parents all her life.
Though we may never know the truth, Dickinson takes this opportunity to explore the possibilities that may lie within the love life of the great writer. The show also reads like a coming-of-age story of sorts, just one set in the 19th century with an utterly modern sensibility. Since people tended to get married early back then, the show revolves around 17-23 year olds who want to get married and have kids; that was what growing up was in those days, for better or for worse. Dickinson ended its run after season three, which ended in glorious fashion at the end of 2021. If you’re looking for a show to binge on completely, Dickinson is a perfect option.
2 Severance pay (2022 – present)
Apple TV+’s dystopian sci-fi show Dismissal has become one of the most acclaimed shows of 2022. Wonderfully exciting and original, Dismissal follows the complex story of Lumon Industries employees who undergo a procedure that splits their brains into work and home halves. Adam Scott’s character, a widower named Mark S., enrolls in the “layoff program,” but a new rebellious co-worker, Helly R. (Britt Lower), forces him to question his perspective and uncover the truth about Lumon Industries. to discover.
With 14 Emmy nominations and the honor of being the only series to win two major categories (Best Drama and Best New Series) at the Writers Guild Awards, it’s safe to say that Dismissal made waves in the industry. Fans are now eagerly awaiting Dismissal‘s second season.
1 Ted Lasso (2020 – present)
If you haven’t heard of it yet Ted Lassoyou just have to live under a rock. Ted Lasso is objectively the most recognized and award-winning program on Apple TV+. Original created as an NBC Sports promotion, Ted Lasso quickly became one of the best shows on any streaming platform and is likely responsible for the explosion of Apple TV memberships. The show follows an American Division II College Football coach who is hired to coach Premier League Soccer in London. The idea is a bit bizarre, but that’s what makes it fun, allowing the show to build up the characters in the most wacky and enjoyable ways.
The characters of Ted Lasso are what make it great, and their innate kindness to each other is critical in these divisive times. Despite being named after the main character, the show is very much an ensemble comedy. Jason Sudeikis certainly does a great job as Ted Lasso, but he would be a lot less funny without the great acting from Brett Goldstein, Juno Temple, Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, Phil Dunster, Brendan Hunt, Nick Mohammed and the rest of the mold. The people make Ted Lasso great, that and his good old fashioned optimism. Season 3 is on the screens now, so if you’re one of the five people on the planet who’s never watched Ted Lassothis is the time.
