Kristin Milioti has entered “The Batman” universe: “The Resort” actress will portray Sofia Falcone, Carmine Falcone’s daughter, in “The Penguin” (working title), a spinoff of the HBO Max limited series and Matt Reeves’ film.
The “Made for Love” star will play Colin Farrell alongside the title character. According to the show’s logline, the DC drama will expand into the world Reeves has created by focusing on Pharrell’s nefarious Gotham City mobster.
The series is executive produced by Reeves, Dylan Clarke, Pharrell and Lauren LeFrank, who write and serve as showrunners, as well as Craig Zobel, who directed the first two episodes. Based on characters created for DC by Bob Kane with Bill Finger, “The Penguin” is produced by Reeves’ 6th and Idaho Productions and Dylan Clark Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, where Reeves and 6th and Idaho are a composite. are under deal. Daniel Pipsky also serves as executive producer under the 6th & Idaho banner, with Rafi Krohn as co-executive producer.
In the Robert Pattinson-starring “The Batman”, Kingpin Falcone is portrayed by John Turturro, whose character accompanies a penguin for control of the city. The film reflects the comic book canon that Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz) is one of Falcone’s daughters, so it is potentially plausible that the character could make an appearance in the series.
Milioti is best known for starring alongside Andy Samberg in the “Groundhog Day”-esque “Palm Springs”. She has also appeared in “The Wolf of Wall Street” and “The Brass Teapot”. Her TV credits include “How I Met Your Mother,” FX’s “Fargo,” “The Mindy Project,” “Black Mirror” and “Modern Love.” She has been repped by UTA, Untitled Entertainment and Independent PR.
