‘Heartstopper’ Season 2 is in the making, which will feature four new cast members.
Leela Khan has joined as Higgs School student Sahar Zahid; Jack Barton plays David Nelson, Nick’s older brother; Bradley Riches plays James McEwan, a student at Truham School; and Neema Taleghani as Mr. Farooq, a Truham school teacher.
Newcomer Khan won the role of Sahar after a nationwide open casting call. This is his first professional acting role.
Riches was previously playing a student role in season 2, but is now in the titular role of James for Season 2.
New cast members join the returning cast: Kit Connor as Nick, Joe Locke as Charlie, Yasmin Finney as Elle, William Gao as Tao, Corinna Brown as Tara, Kizzie as Darcy. Edgel, Sebastian Croft as Ben, Toby Donovan as Isaac, Norwood as Rhea Imogen and Jenny Walser as Tori.
Netflix also released a new video on Thursday with the cast saying hi from the sets, which you can watch above.
Season 1 of the show follows gentle Charlie and rugby-loving Nick when they met in secondary school and quickly discovered that their unlikely friendship was blossoming into an unlikely romance. Charlie, Nick, and their circle of friends have to navigate a relentlessly relatable journey of self-discovery and acceptance, supporting each other as they learn to find their most authentic selves.
