Filmmaker Karan Johar is back on the coffee bench! Season 7 of Coffee With Karan started on Disney+ Hotstar with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, followed by actresses Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan as guests in the second episode. As the crowds around the show mounted, the Koffee With Karan couch saw Akshay Kumar and Samantha Ruth Prabhu deliver a lively pot of glamour, secrets and witty one-liners.

Koffee Met Karan 7: Akshay Kumar Says Trolls Call Him ‘Canada Kumar’; criticize them for starring in front of younger female actors: ‘Why shouldn’t I work with them? Do I look like I’m 55?’

When Karan Johar asked Akshay Kumar what is the worst he has read about himself, “I don’t read much about it. Not much negative has been written about me either. I’m lucky that way. At most they write ‘Canada’. No more than that. I don’t pay much attention to it.”

Karan joked, “It’s my favorite when trolls call you Canada Kumar.” Akshay responded by saying, “Theek hai bula lo yaar.”

He also spoke about the conversation about being trolled for playing opposite younger female co-actors. Akshay Kumar was recently criticized for starring opposite Manushi Chhillar Samrat Prithviraj. She is 25 years old. He said: “They scold me for working with younger heroines because they’re jealous. Why shouldn’t I work with them? Do I look like I’m 55? I don’t understand what the problem is with that. They get jealous and write about it. Some media people write about it or some trolls bring it up. I listen to it with one ear and let it pass by the other.”

On the work front, Akshay Kumar will next be seen in Aanand L Rai’s next direction, Raksha Bandhan. The film will be released on August 11.
