It’s all over for Akshay Kumar starrer Raksha Bandhan At the register. It is estimated that the number of the film’s collections fell on Monday, despite the Independence Day holiday. The family drama is on its way to collect in the range of €5.75 to 6.15 crores on the fifth day to bring the total collection of 5 days to Rs. 34 million dollars. Raksha Bandhan is one of those rare Hindi movies that saw a drop on a national holiday as big as Independence Day.

The drop has hit the multiplexes as the talk has been downright negative and the film has exhausted its audience over its four-day run. Also, the mass belts were up to no good over the extended weekend to say the least, but even on vacation they didn’t show the kind of jump that was expected. It’s a theatrical disaster, and the journey now is to see if it somehow manages to get into the Rs. 50 crore club at the box office.

The Lifetime Collections of Raksha Bandhan will be lower than Akshay’s previous release, Samrat Prithvirajand more or less in the same range as Bachchhan Paandey. Given the trend over the weekend, a crash on Tuesday won’t be surprising, despite the small advantage of the Parsi New Year’s holiday.

given how Raksha Bandhan has perished, it is safe to assume that Ek Villain returns would have taken better advantage of this holiday season and achieved better numbers in the longer term. The holiday season would have given Ek Villain returns a chance at clocking Rs. 55 crore plus mark in India.
