The much-discussed and hugely promoted Aanand L Rai directing Raksha Bandhan was released earlier this week on Thursday, August 11. Starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar, the film, which was released festively, would open with a bang. Contrary to expectations, however, Raksha Bandhan modestly opened with Rs. 8.20 cr comes in on the opening day. Following this, the film’s business on the second day saw a drop in collections, while on day 3 it saw growth.

In this box office report, we look at the Akshay Kumar starrer’s overseas collections Raksha Bandhan while the same is broken down into territory-wise data. Not surprisingly, the US market took the lead with Rs. 1.12 cr. coming in within three days, this area follows the regions of UK and Canada bringing in Rs. 50.97 lakhs and Rs. 40.03 lakhs respectively. Interestingly, in Australia and New Zealand overseas markets Raksha Bandhan managed to pull Rs. 31.89 lakhs and Rs. 18.47 lakhs respectively by the end of the third day in cinemas.

Moving forward, Raksha Bandhan which has received positive reviews from the critics is expected to see its collections grow. In fact, trading forecasts state that despite the competition from the other release Laal Singh Chaddhathe company of Raksha Bandhan will benefit greatly from the extended weekend.
