Ryan Coogler is helming a diverse version of ‘The X-Files’

“The X-Files” creator Chris Carter says writer-director Ryan Coogler is remaking the iconic mystery series with a diverse cast.

Dana Scully, Fox Mulder, Walter Skinner and the rest of “The X-Files” characters have been redefined through the lens of the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” director and co-writer, according to Carter, who shared Did news on Gloria Makarenko’s CBC Radio show “On the Coast with Gloria Makarenko”.

After Makarenko asked how the listeners would go about creating the series for TODAY, he noted that the effort was already in progress.

Carter said, “Actually – I just talked to a guy, Ryan Coogler, who’s going to reboot The X-Files with a diverse cast.” “So, he has his work cut out for him because we’ve covered a lot of territory.”

A representative for “X-Files” producer 20th Television told TheWrap “there’s nothing to confirm at this stage.”

“The X-Files” first premiered on September 10, 1993 and ended on March 21, 2018 with 11 seasons. The cast included David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Mitch Pileggi, William B. Davis, Robert Patrick, Tom Braidwood, Bryan Cranston. Jem Pickens Jr. and Seth Green.
