In conversation with TheWrap that took place before “Severance” was renewed for a second installment, Eriksson previewed that the series would expand its scope.
“I think the end of Season 1 definitely opens the door for Season 2 to be little more than an ensemble piece on the outside,” he said. “We’ve opted to follow Mark specifically for most of Season 1 and stick with his point of view … At a certain point, you’ve played that song, and now it’s time to expand and change it to something else. And so, we’ve got this amazing ensemble of actors and one of the most fun and exciting things about season 2 is to see them play that dichotomy the way you saw Adam in season 1. I saw you playing.”
